Halsted Street

Halsted Street Review

Since the late 1960s, Halsted Street near 18th Street has been home to a large number of artists living and working in the mixed-use artists' community known as the Chicago Arts District. Over the last 30 years, street-level art galleries and studios have put Pilsen on the map as a go-to art destination, and innovative spaces abound. On the second Friday of each month from 6 to 10 pm, 30 artists open their doors to the public and feature interpretive dance, installation, music, sculpture, visual displays, and performance art. Outside of 2nd Fridays, most studios have weekend hours or are available by appointment.

  • Chicago and Where Else

We've never been to Chicago other than changing planes.

We'd like to go for a few days but that's a lot of flying to spend 3-4 days in one place.

    Any add-ons in the area?

    Thanks. Read more
