Millennium Knickerbocker Hotel

Fodor's Review:

This 1927 hotel has had a number of identities in its time -- including a 1970s stint as the Playboy Hotel and Towers under owner Hugh Hefner. Chinoiserie wallpaper and dark-wood armoires lend an Asian feel to guest rooms. We love the complimentary shoeshine service; hang your kicks on the door at night and they'll be spiffed up by morning. Your downtime is well spent in the Lobby Bar, which features 50 different kinds of martinis.
