Urban Belly Review

It's easy to strike up a conversation with local foodies at this casual BYOB Asian street-food spot that is a neighborhood favorite. And there's a lot to discuss: should you go for a bowl of udon noodles swimming in a chili-lime broth or the pho-spiced duck dumplings and "phat rice" (fried rice with diced pork belly and short rib)? Either way, it's hard to go wrong with anything chef Bill Kim creates in his tiny kitchen. But come early: despite the restaurant's out-of-the-way location in the residential Avondale neighborhood, seating at the four long communal tables is first-come, first-served, and spots fill up quickly.
