Lynfred Winery Bed & Breakfast

Fodor's Review:

Something of an anomaly amid the strip malls and big restaurant chains in nearby Schaumberg, located 45 minutes northwest of downtown Chicago, this B&B feels like a quaint country farmhouse—one with surprising gourmet leanings. Each of its four generously sized suites has heated bathroom floors and is decorated in the style of a different country (the French Suite has a gilded mirror and Louis IV-style chairs). The adjoining wine cellar and tasting room is where you'll try inexpensive yet tasty cabernets, aged in barrels on-site. All stays include a cellar tour and a full breakfast cooked by a Culinary Institute of America grad.
