Fodor's Review

Part handy hotel restaurant, part Loop power diner, and all Italian down to its first-generation chef, Luca Corazzina, 312 Chicago earns its popularity with well-executed dishes that range from rigatoni Bolognese to Tuscan bistecca—grilled rib-eye steak with arugula and potato wedges. We're tempted to carbo-load on the house-baked bread alone but make sure to save room for Italian-inspired desserts like vanilla cheesecake with polenta cookies and Fabbri Amarena

cherries. Note that upstairs tables are quieter.

Waiters are not to be found

The service was beyond horrible. The waiter forgot several orders at our table, and we couldn't get him back to coorect the problem (though we asked several other staff members). The items that they did deliver where not delivered together and where cold. OVvrall the food looked tempting on the menu but they didn't deliver. The atmosphere was crowded. It is a shame, as I really wanted to like this restaurant.

Before theatre place

Service was very slow and the food was less than average. Four people had a bill of 215.00 without drinks. Overall a below average experience but it was convenient to the theatre.

It's a long long trip...

to the ladies room, but that's the only "bad" thing I've got to say about my lunch this week! Had lunch with 4 business colleagues, one of whom is 8 months pregnant -- could be that's one reason they were so nice to us. Secured our laptops for us, and seated us where we could easily see the rest of our party when they arrived. It was a busy Friday at lunch time, and the service couldn't have been better. Everything was timed out perfectly. Try the

gnochhi with rabbit -- it was marvelous. The best salad (we tried 3) was the sickle pear with pignoli nuts and balsamic dressing. We really had a good time here. (Oh about that ladies room -- you need to go up the winding staircase, cross the upstairs dining room and down a longish hallway. What can I say..I was looking for a "catchy" headline!

Good before and afters.

The freshbaked bread before dinner was great and so were the deserts the entrees were just average and the prices weren't justified. The service was average at best, we had a hard time tracking down our waiter several times. It's convenient for pre-theater dining, but there are so many other great places to go instead of this good one...
