Fodor's Review

One of the finest Thai restaurants in Chicago—some say in the country—is also one of the most expensive, featuring only 12-course tasting menus for a flat $85. The kitchen artfully composes six appetizers, four entrées, and two desserts nightly, using the freshest ingredients. Results might include shrimp-filled golden pastry baskets, whole tamarind snapper, and veal medallions with ginger-lemongrass sauce. Arun's out-of-the-way location in a residential neighborhood

on the northwest side doesn't discourage a strong following among locals and visiting foodies.

Simply Sucks!

They treated us like dirt - assumed we could not afford their elaborate and expensive $85 per person charges - they were the worst ever !@@#$ hosts!

You get what you pay for at Arun's

I've been all over the world and this restaurant is on my top 3 great culinary memories. Everything was divine and I was more than I expected. Save your pennies for this experience. You can also leave the coat and tie at home because it's not a snooty place. More like smart casual. I will go back any time I can.

Heaven is in a not so great neighborhood

My wife and I have made a practice of dining out at some of the highest rated restaurants in the city about twice a year for the last ten years. This is our favorite so far.

Not so much...

While I thought this restaurant's food, service and atmosphere were unusually good, I could not escape the feeling that the joke was on me. The prices would suggest something truly exceptional, almost world class, not simply exceptional Thai cooking. Comapred to other eaterie's with similar reviews, Arun's was a disappointment. I glad I tried it once, but once is enough.

Best Thai ever!

We had an amazing experience here. Unbelieveable food and service. No menus - just 12 courses of heaven!
