Fodor's Review:

On Polk Street is St. Basil Greek Orthodox Church, a gorgeous Greek-revival building originally used as a Jewish synagogue. The bronze statue of Italian explorer Christopher Columbus that anchors Arrigo Park on Loomis Street was cast in Rome and brought to Chicago for the 1893 World's Columbian Exposition.
