Chicago Sights

The Polish Museum of America

The Polish Museum of America Review

Chicago has the largest Polish population of any city outside Warsaw, and this museum in Ukrainian Village, just south of Wicker Park, celebrates that fact. Take a trip to the old country by strolling through exhibits of folk costumes, memorabilia from Pope John Paul II, American Revolutionary War heroes Tadeusz Kosciuszko and Casimir Pulaski, and pianist and composer Ignacy Paderewski. There's also Hussar armor and an 8-foot-long sleigh in the shape of a dolphin that's carved from a single log. It's also a good place to catch up on your reading; the library has 60,000 volumes.
