Charnley-Persky House Museum

Charnley-Persky House Museum Review

Designed by Frank Lloyd Wright with his mentor Louis Sullivan, this almost-austere residence represents one of Wright's first significant forays into residential design. Historians still squabble about who designed what here, but it's easy to imagine that the young go-getter had a hand in the cleanly rendered interior. Note how the geometric exterior looks unmistakably modern next to its fussy neighbors. Public tours of both the interior and exterior are available and last about one hour. Wednesday tours, which are free, are less comprehensive than Saturday tours; reservations are a good idea for large groups.

  • Chicago and Where Else

We've never been to Chicago other than changing planes.

We'd like to go for a few days but that's a lot of flying to spend 3-4 days in one place.

    Any add-ons in the area?

    Thanks. Read more
