On weekend nights the Peninsula's soaring lobby lounge becomes a chocolate fantasia, centered on an overflowing chocolate buffet. The hotel, committed to keeping its guests well fed and well rested, is also home to one of the city's most creative restaurants (Avenues), along with a lavish and popular afternoon tea. One of only three branches in the United States of the venerable Hong Kong-based Peninsula chain, it features comfortable rooms with plush pillow-top beds, Wi-Fi, and state-of-the-art bedside consoles that control both the TV and the "do not disturb" light. The rooftop lap pool is enclosed in a Zen aerie offering stunning views over the city. Make time to enjoy the property's award-winning spa. Pros: top-notch bath products; separate shower and bath. Cons: in-house dining options are not the best for families with children.

If you're in Chicago & want a 'once in a lifetime' experience then don't look at the cost and stay at the The Peninsula Chicago. From the room to dinner at Shanghai Terrace to the Spa - it was perfect!

quite cold atmosphere, view from pool is excellent. other than that, pretty standard and boring in terms of atmosphere and service.
