Old Town School of Folk Music
Old Town School of Folk Music Review
Old Town School of Folk Music, Chicago's first and oldest folk-music school, has served as folk central in the city since it opened in 1957. This welcoming spot in Lincoln Square hosts outstanding performances by national and local acts in an intimate-feeling 420-seat concert hall boasting excellent acoustics. If you can, book a table seat next to the stage. Each summer the school sponsors the popular Chicago Folk & Roots Festival in nearby Welles Park.
