Fodor's Review

Anyone who does authentic Mexican in Chicago operates in the shadow of Frontera Grill's Rick Bayless—which makes it easier for those in the know to snag a table at Salpicón. Chef Priscila Satkoff grew up in Mexico City, and her renditions of mole poblano and grilled fish with salsa fresca have unforced flair. Wash 'em down with a belt of one of 100 tequilas or choose from the extensive selection of vintage wines. Once you try the Mexican-style Sunday brunch, with dishes like the spicy chilaquiles with tomatillo-serrano sauce, you'll have a hard time going back to eggs Benedict.
