A classic tavern for the clubby set, Rockit Bar & Grill serves upscale bar food, pours creative cocktails, and aims to please everyone from celebrity visitors (who generally get the VIP treatment in the barroom upstairs) to picky kids. The extensive menu spans salads, sandwiches, and burgers (try the Kobe version), as well as comfort-food entrées like barbecue pulled pork and jerk seasoned mahi-mahi. Designer Nate Berkus gained a reputation working for Oprah; here he went rustic-chic, with tree-stump cocktail tables and antler chandeliers. After dinner, head upstairs to shoot some pool and check out the singles scene. Or move uptown and head to the Rockit Burger Bar offshoot in Wrigleyville, at 3700 N. Clark Street.
