Fodor's Review

If you're doing Steppenwolf pretheater dinner on North Halsted Street, this upscale spot gets the foodie stamp of approval, especially with executive chef Lee Wolenin in the kitchen. The seasonally driven menu is constantly changing, offering elegant fare such as seared scallops with cauliflower, apples, and radishes, and roasted chicken with boudin sausage, prunes, and burnt cabbage. Cocktails here are top shelf, often using house-made syrups and specialty, small-batch spirits. The slick lounge and outdoor patio both serve food, so this is a big draw even for those not watching curtain time.
