Maunaloa

Maunaloa Review

Built in 1923, this quiet small town at the western end of the highway housed the workers on the island's pineapple plantation. Although the fields of golden fruit are long gone, some of the old plantation houses have been torn down and reproduced. You'll find a kite shop, a gallery with local and imported art and jewelry, and an eclectic general store on the short main street. This is the last place to buy supplies before heading out to explore the beaches of the west end.
