Fodor's Review:
If you want to see some of the world's finest windsurfers in action, hit this beach along the Hana Highway. The sport was largely developed right at Hookipa and has become an art and a career to some. This beach is also one of Maui's hottest surfing spots, with waves as high as 20 feet. This is not a good swimming beach, nor the place to learn windsurfing, but plenty of picnic tables and BBQs are available for hanging out and watching the pros. Bust out your telephoto lens at the cliffside lookout.
