The Gazebo Restaurant
The Gazebo Restaurant Review
Breakfast is the reason to seek out this restaurant located poolside at the Napili Shores resort. The ambience is a little funky but the oceanfront setting and views are spectacular—including the turtle, spinner dolphin, and, in winter, humpback-whale sightings. The food is standard diner fare and portions are big. Many folks think the Gazebo serves the best pancakes on West Maui. Have them with pineapple, bananas, macadamia nuts, chocolate chips, or make up your own combination. You will almost certainly have to wait for a table, sometimes for quite a while, but at least it's a pleasant place to do so.

With the gorgeous views and whales to be seen while standing in line during whale season, it is worth the wait. The macadamia pancakes are so light and fluffy and the fried rice is very good. It would be worth getting half orders if you are with only 2 people as the portions are huge. The prices are cheap for Maui...Yeah I guess if you're from Oklahoma it's expensive but if you're from big cities, this is really cheap. Hotel buffets are over $40 p/p.

We stayed right next to the gazabo and the first few days could not figure out what the line was for..then we woke up early for coffee and decided to get in line first and see what was going on.. It was awsome and i saw two whale's in November standing in line. Great bunch of hard working girls serving you with big smiles.

30 minute wait? Try more like 45 to 90 minutes. The line snakes around the hotel's pool sometimes. But the macadamia nut pancakes are worth it. They put this awesome buttery whipped cream stuff on top. Mmmm. Plus the view while waiting is great. Last time we were there we saw humpback whales breaching, spinner dolphins jumping, and a rainbow over the straits towards Moloka'i. All that makes the line go faster. The atmosphere and views in the restaurant are great too. Service prompt, friendly, and low-key dinerlike.
Note: They now take credit cards (Visa and MasterCard only)!
