Best Western Pioneer Inn

Fodor's Review:

Fans of author Tom Robbins will recognize the Pioneer Inn as one of the settings in his novel Still Life with Woodpecker. Built in 1901 when Lahaina was the bawdy heart of the Pacific's whaling industry, the small, right-in-town hotel has been substantially remodeled, updated, and rebranded as a Best Western. Rooms are clean and basic but the price is certainly right. The grounds are well tended and there's a gazebo and private room designed specifically for weddings. The restaurant is open from 7 AM to 10 PM daily and is a popular hangout (especially at sunset) for folks who work at the harbor as well as hotel guests. Pros: Lahaina town shops and restaurants are within easy walking distance; proximity to Lahaina Harbor makes for easy access to oceangoing activities. Cons: few in-room amenities; facing Front Street on one side and the busy harbor on the other; can be noisy.

  • Hotel Details: 31 rooms, 3 suites
  • In-hotel: restaurant, pool, Wi-Fi hotspot.
  • Credit Cards: AE, D, DC, MC, V
