Built in 1924 and listed on the State and National Registers of Historic Places, this home may be the ultimate Hawaiian B&B. Each room is decorated with the theme of a Hawaiian flower, and the flower motif appears in the heirloom Hawaiian quilt on each bed. Other features include 10-foot ceilings and floors of native hardwoods; some rooms have delightful whirlpool tubs. The first-floor rooms have private gardens. A newer addition has three gorgeous rooms, each with a standing spa shower and bed coverings designed by Hawaii's premier fabric designer, Sig Zane. A hearty and delicious breakfast is included. Pros: the charm of old Hawaii; knowledgeable innkeepers; walking distance to Maui's best ethnic restaurants. Cons: closest beach is a 20-minute drive away; you may hear some traffic at certain times.
