Fodor's Review:

Just past Paia, on the other side of a stucco wall from Hana Highway, this cute, small but clean one-bedroom apartment decorated with tropical prints and Hawaiian quilts is bright and airy. You can park your car in the garage below and climb the stairs to this second-floor unit, which has a broad lanai with a gas grill and a dining table. The lanai captures gentle cooling breezes, and it has a fantastic ocean view. You're just steps away from the ocean here, although there is no sand beach, just a rocky access; Tavares Bay is a mere 200 yards away for windsurfing or swimming. Pros: free interisland, mainland, and Canada phone calls; host is lifelong Maui resident and will share island stories with you. Cons: road noise from Hana Highway; another house is right next door; no resort amenities.
