The Wailea Resort started out with three upscale condominium complexes named, appropriately, Ekahi, Elua, and Ekolu (One, Two, and Three). The individually owned units, managed by Destination Resorts Hawaii, represent some of the best values in this high-class neighborhood; there's a wide range of prices. All benefit from daily housekeeping, air-conditioning, high-speed Internet, free long distance, lush landscaping, and preferential play at the neighboring world-class golf courses and tennis courts. You're likely to find custom appliances and sleek furnishings befitting the million-dollar locale. The concierges here will stock your fridge with groceries—even hard-to-find dietary items—for a nominal fee. Ekolu, farthest from the water, is the most affordable and benefits from a hillside view; Ekahi is a large V-shaped property focusing on Keawakapu Beach; Elua has 24-hour security and overlooks Ulua Beach. Pros: probably the best value in this high-rent district; close to good shopping and dining. Cons: the oldest complexes in the neighborhood; it can be tricky to find your way around the buildings.

We stay at Ekahi every year and love it. Lots of room. Kitchen and laundry. Grounds are beautifully groomed. Great beach too.
