Parks, Central Maui
Fodor's Review:
Covering 101 acres in Central Maui, this park reflects island residents' traditional love of sports. It was originally named "Maui Central Park," but school children argued before the County Council that it be named for Hawaii's most sacred queen, who was born near here and was later forced to flee across the mountains when Kamehameha the Great's army arrived. The park includes seven playing fields, a running path, skate ramp, and grass amphitheater.
