Nearly hidden between auto-body shops and karaoke bars is this wonderful, bright café serving good island fare. Affordable, tasty entrées such as grilled tenderloin with wild mushrooms or garlic-crusted ono with ginger-cucumber relish come with a choice of two sides. The flavorful dishes are healthful, too—chef Elaine Rothermal previously instructed island nutritionists on how to prepare health-conscious versions of local favorites. (She's trying to get away from that somewhat, as most people like the bad stuff at least sometimes.) Try the Hawaiian french-fried sweet potatoes or the poi, the Hawaiian classic made from taro root. Solo musicians entertain on weekends.
