An amiable French chef, Jacques Pauvert won the hearts of the windsurfing crowd when he opened this hip, ramshackle bar and restaurant. It's a youthful hangout with fairly sophisticated fare for the price, and makes a great dating spot for twentysomethings on a budget. French-Caribbean dishes like Jacques' Crispy Little Poulet (chicken) reveal the owner's expertise. The tropical outdoor area can be a little chilly at times; coveted spots at the sushi bar inside are snatched up quickly. On Friday nights, a DJ moves in and the dining room becomes a packed dance floor.

Dine outside in a relaxed an open atmosphere for full menu, or inside for the sushi bar. Excellent food everytime. We eat here multiple times every trip we make to Maui. Never had a bad experience. Great creme brulee and an awesome ahi tuna and salmon dinner roll.
