Fodor's Review

This resort offers spacious one- and two-bedroom condo units that are minutes from Poipu's restaurants and across the street from a nice beach. White-frame exteriors and double-pitched roofs complement the tropical landscaping. Interiors include full kitchens and entertainment centers. Choose from garden and ocean views. Four deluxe 2,600-square-foot penthouse suites have enormous lanai, private elevators, and cathedral ceilings. You can mingle at a weekly coffee hour held beside the ocean-view pool or grab a good read from the resort library. Fresh seasonings are ready to be picked from the herb garden, and there's a barbecue poolside. In winter you can whale-watch as you cook. A three-night minimum stay is required.

Simply could not be better!!!!

Everything about Poipu Kapili is memorable. The oceanfront units have an unobstructed view of the Pacific, which means the sound of the surf lulls you to sleep. We saw whales two days in a row while we were sitting in the living room of our unit. The condominium is up-to-date (new furniture, carpeting, and utensils) with plenty of space for everyone. The unit's lay-out is terrific, with common areas downstairs and bedrooms and baths upstairs.

The unit also has a laundry room and an extra bathroom downstairs. There's a wonderful pool at the center of the property, and it's a couple of minute walk to a great beach. Because there's no beach on property, you have extra privacy as no one is standing in front of your unit at any time. And the folks who run the place are really focused on making your reservations work and your stay really enjoyable. This is THE place to stay in the Poipu area.

Perfect but for one little thing....

This is a sparkling property with fabulous ocean views, proximity to great swimming and snorkling beaches, and a staff that is eager to accomodate. We loved buying fresh ahi and wahoo in Koloa Town and cooking on the grills next to the pool. We stayed in Unit 12 (oceanfront)and enjoyed Trade Wind cross ventilation (the units are not A/C'd and don't really need to be). There's just one little catch. The resort is separated from the ocean by a little

two-lane road that carries a fair amount of traffic. A bit distracting, to say the least - and downright aggravating when the locals in their rolling boomboxes cruised the roads into the wee hours of the morning. I gave all 5's in my scoring with the exception of "atmosphere" and the road noise was the reason for that. After a couple of nights, the road noise faded into the background and Paradise prevailed. We would consider staying at Poipu Kapili again, but I suggest considering a complex without the road seperating the property from the ocean.

Poipu Paradise

We stayed here in November, 2001 and had a wonderful time. The condo was beautiful and very large - we stayed in a 2 bedroom superior condo. I would say it is probably the nicest condo we saw while we were there. The only drawback was their constant maintenance work while we were there - painting the exterior of the condos, coming in to clean windows and shutters and shutting the water off for four hours one day. These jobs are clearly things they

should do when the unit is unoccupied.
