Fodor's Review:

Situated close to the center of Poipu, on a rocky point over the ocean, the Makahuena is near Shipwreck and Poipu beaches. It's a better deal for the price than some of the nearby properties. Large, tastefully decorated one-, two-, and three-bedroom suites with white-tile and sand-color carpets are housed in white-wood buildings on well-kept lawns. Each unit has a kitchen and washer and dryer; there's also a small pool and shared barbecue area on the property. Pros: Reasonable rates, tennis courts, scenic setting. Cons: No swimming beach, no high-speed Internet.
