When Chef Mavro decided to develop a new restaurant for Honolulu, he went back to memories of his boyhood home in Cassis for inspiration and brought French comfort food to Hawaii. Though the atmosphere is contemporary and chic, Mavro's French Bistro offers old-world favorites such as cassoulet and steak frites (steak and fries). His exceptionally tender huli-huli chicken with fresh Kahuku creamed corn and Hamakua mushroom risotto demonstrate Mavro's commitment to fresh local products. Lunches are a real treat, with views of the harbor, and a pau hana (after-work) drink at the wine bar is a memorable experience.
