Fodor's Review:

Named for the father of modern surfing, and outfitted with much Duke Kahanamoku memorabilia, Duke's is both an open-air bar and a very popular steak-and-seafood grill. It's known for its Big Island pork ribs, huli-huli (rotisserie) chicken, and grilled catch of the day, as well as for a simple and economical Sunday brunch. A drawback is that it's often loud and crowded, and the live contemporary Hawaiian music can stymie conversation.

The atmosphere is awesome, when you come in from the street, its very fancy. But come in from the beach, and your right in the bar enjoying your favorite drink and food dish. Try the Mai-Tai, it is awesome. The catch of the day is great, there is nothing better than fresh caught fish. Everyone is very friendly and I loved every minute I was there. There is nothing like sitting right next to the beach, enjoying a drink and exquisite food.
