Tiki's Grill and Bar

Updated 01/17/2014

Fodor's Review

On the second floor of a busy hotel, Tiki's is the kind of place people come to Waikiki for: a retro–South Pacific spot designed for fun. It has a back-of-the-bar faux volcano, an open-air lounge with live local-style music, indoor-outdoor dining, and a view of the beach across the street. Despite the name, you don't get run-of-the-mill pupus here. Chef Ronnie Nasuti, who for years helmed the Roy's flagship, stronghold of Hawaiian Regional Cuisine, turns out beautifully

composed plates and manages to put fresh twists on the super familiar—like a refreshing iceberg wedge salad brightened with slices of watermelon radish, pancetta chips, and a blue cheese vinaigrette, or seared swordfish in a carrot yuzu sauce. Be sure to try one of the mai tais, which come in a variety of flavors.

Best Place to take Visitors

When we're entertaining guests from the mainland, this is the best place to take them. The food is great and the atmosphere is what people dream of when they dream of their Hawaii vacation. Let alone that valet parking is free and if you don't want to valet (I'm cheap!), the zoo and park are close close by with plenty of parking. Oh yeah, the kids meals are served on frisbees that they get to take home. Very nice.

Great food and fun at Tikis

Tikis is one of my favorite restaurats for a fun evening out with my husband or as a great place to bring the kids for an early dinner. The food is consistantly good( great kids choices), and the servers are friendly and knowledgable. For value and quality, you can't go wrong with Tikis!

loverly bunch of coconuts. .

Food was not great, but atmosphere was fun. At night they light torches but you can't see the beach, so going for lunch or early evening would be best. The most memorable part of the evening was however the coconuts. We orderd pina coladas and they brought them out in real coconuts with umbrellas! At the end of the meal our waiter cleaned the coconuts for a fun souvenier!

Excellent!

We had a group of 6 there last week and every meal was wonderful! Try the Signature Salmon - absolutely outstanding, as were the lamb chops, ahi tuna and filet. A fairly noisy, fun-loving crowd there that enjoys great food and drink - not for your intimate, romantic dinner.
