Schrader's Windward Country Inn

Fodor's Review:

If you're looking for an alternative to staying in Waikiki and you aren't fussy about amenities, consider Schrader's, in Kaneohe, 30 minutes from both Waikiki and the North Shore. Though billed as "cottages by the sea," the setting is actually more roadside motel than resort. However, Schrader's provides a moderately priced lodging option with amenities you won't find in Waikiki, like complimentary biweekly ocean-reef tours that include snorkeling and kayaking the scenic Windward coastline. One- to four-bedroom accommodations are available. Units have microwaves and refrigerators; some have full kitchens. Complimentary breakfast on the main building's veranda is included. Ask for the units that open onto Kaneohe Bay if you relish the possibility of fishing right off your lanai. Pros: What views of Kaneohe Bay! Cons: Not all units are bay-side, rental car is a necessity.
