Fodor's Review

Visit the Waimea-based headquarters of the twin Keck Observatory 10-meter optical/infrared telescopes (the largest and most scientitically productive in the world) that feature advanced instrumentation including imagers, multiobject spectrographs, high-resolution spectrographs, and world-leading adaptive optics systems. Top global astronomy teams use the 'scopes to make astounding discoveries, thanks to the instruments' power, precision, and location atop Mauna Kea above the turbulence of the atmosphere. The visitors center docents offer personalized tours and show you models of the telescopes and observatories, as well as one of the original instruments. You can peruse the exhibits and intepretive infographics at your own pace.
