Fodor's Review

Billed as "the only natural tropical rainforest zoo in the United States," this sweet zoo features native Hawaiian species such as the state bird, the nene goose, and the io (hawk), as well as lots of other rare birds, monkeys, sloths and lemurs. They also have a petting zoo from 1:30 to 2:30 daily and grounds landscaped with unusual tropical plants. To get here, turn left on Mamaki off Highway 11; it's just past the "Kulani 19, Stainback Hwy." sign.
