Charming inside and out, the lavender Jacaranda Inn can be spotted from miles away. Built in 1897, the sprawling estate was once the home of the manager of Parker Ranch; it's been redecorated in hues of raspberry and lavender, with lots of koa wood accents. Most of the rooms have hot tubs. The units are booked under two separate plans. Plan A includes daily maid service, full breakfasts, and a bottle of wine; Plan B is simpler, with Continental breakfast and less service. A separate nearby cottage that sleeps six has been recently renovated with new hardwood floors, a stone fireplace, and large outdoor hot tub. This place is a great deal, and the rooms are very comfortable. Pros: country charm, hot tubs in most rooms, walking distance to Waimea restaurants. Cons: no pool, lots of purple, pricey for the area.
