Gourmet Cooking Hawaii recently launched this Big Island version of its popular Honolulu tours. Visitors tour the Kekela Farm in Waimea, helping famed local chef Daniel Thiebaut pick out produce, then return to Thiebaut's restaurant, Daniel's Seafood Café in Waimea, to cook a three-course meal, side-by-side with the chef. Participants get a true taste of what the island has to offer, and pick up some key regional Hawaiian cooking techniques in the process.
