A relatively new B&B near the popular steam vent caves in Opihikao in the Puna region, Plumeria Hill offers two beautiful suites, each with its own private entrance, two queen beds covered with Hawaiian quilts, and large floor-to-ceiling windows with ocean views. It doesn't get more Hawaiian than the Puna region, with its wild rain forest and reputation for outlaw locals, and Plumeria Hill's hosts do a great job of providing modern luxury amid this wilderness. The B&B also includes a massage treatment room and on-site masseuse. Pros: wildly beautiful location, massage therapist on-site, proximity to volcano and steam vent caves. Cons: remote location, only two rooms, must drive to get to nearest restaurant.
