Locals are ecstatic to see Mahina's, a favorite pizza joint in town a few years back, reopen in the Kona Inn Shopping Village. Upstairs, above the shops, Mahina's serves up some of the tastiest pies on the island (from the usual pepperoni, sausage, and mushroom combos to a great "Garden of Eden" vegetarian option) accompanied by cool ocean breezes and pleasant "downtown" Kona views. It is not uncommon for the owner to close up shop to go paddling, so call ahead to make sure they're open.

My husband and I just got back from our Honeymoon in Hawaii and our last stop was the Big Island for 5 days. We are both big Pizza fans and decided to check out Mahina Pizza. We are so glad that we did! We not only enjoyed the food but also the atmosphere and hanging with Darcy the owner. She was kind and helpful and we enjoyed the experience so much that we went back for a second and third time before we left!
