Casa de Emdeko Review

A large and pretty complex on the makai (oceanfront) side of Alii Drive, Casa de Emdeko offers a few more amenities than most condo complexes, including a florist, hair salon, and an on-site convenience store that makes sandwiches. There's also a private sandy oceanfront area for sunbathing, plus fresh and saltwater pools. All units have lanai, with either garden or ocean views. Each unit is individually owned and managed by various property companies, so it's best to check the Web site if you want to make a reservation.

My husband and I stayed at Casa de Emdeko for 3 nights in July as part of our honeymoon and thought it was a great deal. We stayed in unit 326, which was very tastefully furnished and had every appliance you can imagine (including a washer/dryer) and 2 flat screen TVs! It's right in the center of all the action in Kona, close to all restaurants and little shops, and a good location for exploring the beautiful southern coast. We would definitely recommend it to people who don't need the service/amenities of a hotel.
