Fodor's Review:

This bargain hotel is 45 minutes from Hilo and close to Waipio Valley. Rustic rooms range from lower-level dormitory-style units—bring your own sleeping bag—to upper-story rooms with private baths, ocean views, and a complimentary Continental breakfast. Pros: historic hotel in historic town, close to Waipio Valley, low prices. Cons: funky old hotel in need of an update, somewhat remote location.
