These slightly older condominium units, spread out among three low-rises on the ocean side of Alii Drive, are situated at Kona's most popular surfing spot, Banyans. The facility is also just a couple of minutes' drive from Kailua Village and within walking distance of the popular Magic Sands beach. Kitchens are fully equipped. Choose between the lower-priced mountain view, midrange partial ocean view, and more expensive oceanfront rooms. There's a great Hawaiian poke
(chopped raw fish tossed with herbs and seasoning) café (Da Poke Shack) on-site, plus a liquor store across the street.

The beautiful pictures and description of our condo wasn't nearly as nice as the reality....

We stayed only one night after a late flight before going to a resort for the rest of our stay. The idea was not to pay for the resort when all we needed was a bed. We got a clean, spartan condo with a kitchenette for just shy of $80. The only complaints: the floors were uncarpeted and the window unit air conditioner was not very efficient and VERY noisy. The grounds and buildings were well-kept. Believe it or not, that bad air conditioner has
kept me from booking again for our upcoming stay...it made sleeping difficult, which was our top priority.
