Fodor's Review

Six spacious rooms and suites—plus a private, vintage, one-bedroom cottage that's perfect for honeymooners—are available at this beautiful cedar home on a 30-acre coffee-country estate, a few miles above Kailua Bay in the heart of the artists' village of Holualoa. Nicely appointed with Asian furnishings and fine local art, the inn offers "garden-to-plate" gourmet breakfasts including Kona coffee grown on the property, fresh fruits, jams, eggs from the inn's coop, homemade

breads, quiches, French toast, and macadamia-nut butter. On-site are rooftop gazebos, a mosaic-tiled swimming pool, hot tub, fireplace, guest kitchenette with refrigerator and utensils, dedicated massage pavilion, beautifully manicured tropical gardens, and a meandering coffee trail dotted with historic sites. The Malulani Pavilion provides an open-air setting for weddings, receptions, gatherings, and retreats.

Holualoa Inn Review

This is possibly one of the finest properties on which we have stayed. The service was absolutely without fault (with only 6 rooms there were more staff than guests), the house is open, exotic, beautiful and well cared for, and the breakfast every morning was incredible with eggs from their own hens and fresh fruit from their own trees! At 1,400 feet you don't need air conditioning, you need a thick comforter which they have on their very luxurious

beds and a jacket when sitting out on their 2nd floor lanaii enjoying a bottle of wine and watching the sun set over Kona Bay. Holualoa Inn really is a working farm although the grounds are more like a tropical rain forest or a perfectly manicured garden. Coffee trees surround the propery. Chickens, Roosters, wild Turkeys, and Mongoose roam the grounds. Cattle are grazing below. The location in Holualoa is perfect and away from the traffic, noise, and cruise ships in downtown Kona although very convenient when you want to experience that. If there was one "negative" it would have to be the roosters crowing at sunrise although that did help us get up early to enjoy another perfect day at the Holualoa Inn.

Amazing Island Beauty

This inn is amazing. It is beautiful and clean. The staff is kind and full of great information on what goes on locally-where to go what to see, etc. We had a delicious tropical-inspired breakfast on the rooftop gazebo and then just spent some time wandering the lovely grounds. The gardens are amazing with tropical flowers, pineapples and kona coffee trees. I just cant say enough wonderful things about this inn.
