The Inn at Kulaniapia Falls Review
Overlooking downtown Hilo and the ocean beyond, the Inn at Kulaniapia sits adjacent to a 120-foot waterfall that tumbles into a 300-foot-wide natural pond. Powered by its own hydro-electric facility, the compound offers a main residence with seven bedrooms, plus another six-bedroom home, along with the three-story Pagoda Guest House perched near the cliff above the falls. There's also a six-person hot tub. A full breakfast with Hawaiian fruit and Belgian waffles is served daily. Guests can swim in the pond beneath the waterfall, conditions permitting.

we had pagoda guesthouse for one night. i have to discourage people to go there due to several things...
2 front doors of the guest house we stayed in both doesn't have lock on it, believe it or not, everyone can open the door from outside and get in the room at night! I was obliged to keep vigilant in the ebd at that night so barely wen to sleep. Furthermore, there is 1 inch to 2 inch wide gaps between the front door/screen door with the door frame which let insects in the room at night. I got several bites at that night and it was horrible and sleepless.
I communicated this to inn owner thru telephone and email but they didn't either acknowledge my complaint or offer any recovery plan. they simply denied there is no bug or mosquito in the room which is obviously a lie. besides, they promised they will send person to the house for cooking the breakfest, but they failed again. I was astonished at their indifference of guest experience. -

This place is a bargain and the location is exceptional. Great view of a waterfall, one of the prettiest on the island. Close to Hilo but completely isolated. The owners are very nice but give you space and privacy. A computer and TV are available to guests in the lounge.
