Fodor's Review:
The orchids that run riot in the rain forests of the Big Island suffuse the signature treatments at the Kohala Sports Club & Spa. By the end of the Orchid Isle Wrap, you're completely immersed in the scent and in bone-deep relaxation. The island's volcanic character is also expressed in several treatments, as well as in the design of the lava-rock soaking tubs. Locker rooms are outfitted with private changing rooms for the modest and a wealth of beauty and bath products for the adventurous. The extensive hair and nail salon could satisfy even Bridezilla with its updo consultations and luxe pedicure stations. The nearby ocean-side cabanas are the perfect venue for a massage on the beach. The fitness center is well-equipped, but group classes that roam across the beautifully manicured resort grounds -- like tai chi on the lawn or walking meditation at Buddha Point -- are much more appealing.
