Fodor's Review:

This is a decent place to grab a sandwich or a coffee and check your e-mail before heading to the Volcano. (Lava Rock also serves dinner, but service tends to be less than stellar, especially for tourists.) Dishes range from chicken salad to New York steak, beverages from cappuccino to wine. Though it's not perfect, Lava Rock is a good place to stop if you want to take a picnic into the park: once inside, the park's concessionaires sell bland, overpriced food, and within Volcano Village there are no other fast and tasty deli options.
