Quinn's Almost by the Sea
Quinn's Almost by the Sea Review
With the bar in the front and the dining patio in the back, Quinn's may seem like a bit of a dive at first glance, but this venerable restaurant serves up the best darn cheeseburger and fries in town. Appropriate for families, the restaurant stays busy for lunch and dinner, while the bar attracts a cast of colorful regulars. The menu has many tasty options, like fish-and-chips, meat loaf, or beef tenderloin tips. Quinn's stays open until 11 pm, later than almost any other restaurant in Kailua-Kona. If time gets away from you on a drive to the north beaches, Quinn's awaits your return with a cheap beer and a basket of fried calamari. Drinks are strong; there are no watered-down cocktails served here. Park across the street at the Courtyard King Kamehameha's Kona Beach Hotel and get free one-hour parking with validation.

It's been a long time since I have been served food that tasted this bad at a restaurant. The locals must have a pact with the owner to spread the word to come here. It certainly isn't the food. The service was poor, also. I will never go back and will never recommend it.

This was a total waste. The food was cold coming frm the kitchen. A true dive. This place came recommended by the locals, and I cannot understand why. We had a party of 8 with reservations, the food came out two or three plates at a time and like a said was cold. The waitress knew something was wrong as she never bothered to come to the table to check. All of the food was very tasteless, like they forgot to use any seasoning or spices. I had the ONO and swore it was chicken. We left 95% of the food on our plates. Would not even feed to my dogs.

This is THE place you want to engage for a wonderful Kona experience. The patio out back is not bayview but so local feeling that it didn't matter. you know where you are are. enjoy the vacation and definitely do at least lunch...you've got the entire stretch of alii drive and the farmers markets down the road to walk it off. go for it! Well well worth it!

Love the Ono Fish and Chips. We have been know to eat there two meals a day whenever we go into Kona. Eating on the Lanai is the best, lots of Gecko friends. I have never eaten anything there that I did not love!!
