Waianuhea Review

Defining Hawaiian upcountry elegance, this gorgeous country inn, which is fully self-contained and runs off solar power, sits in a forested area on the Hamakua Coast in Ahualoa. The four guest rooms and large suite have extraordinary color schemes, beautifully tiled baths, and plush furnishings, as well as extra pillows, fluffy down comforters, and soaking tubs. Contemporary artwork is displayed throughout. The large common room with its stunning ocean views and lava-rock fireplace is a big attraction, especially at the wine tasting and hors d‘oeuvres hour each evening. Dinner is available with advance notice.

Very calming retreat. Would stay again.

My husband and I stayed here in February of 2008. Every aspect of this retreat sold us on coming back here again when we head back to the island. We were able to walk the grounds and had unlimited access to the open concept home. Our breakfast was exceptional and fresh! What topped it for us was the exceptional massage we had recieved which we booked prior to our coming. I only wish our masseuse lived closer. Overall our stay was memorable and the host as well as owner and chef were all wonderful to talk with, which is why anyone really stays at a bed and breakfast isn't it? Only drawback-We booked the smallest room not realizing how small it really was-4 suitcases were a tight fit with the queen sized bed but staying in our room wasn't a priority for us we liked socializing. It was perfect for our last night on the island!!
