Brown's Beach House at the Fairmont Orchid Hawaii

Brown's Beach House at the Fairmont Orchid Hawaii Review

Nestled alongside the resort's sandy bay, Brown's Beach House offers beautiful sunset dining and innovative cuisine by chef "TK" Keosavang. Attention to detail is evident in the sophisticated cuisine, like the delicious Manilla clams infused with subtle hints of tomato, onion, fennel, saffron, and white wine. Try the yummy tom yum soup with poached ono in coconut-lemongrass broth, or the tender braised short ribs with veggie risotto. The menu includes choices that accommodate diet-specific preferences such as macrobiotic, raw, vegan, gluten-free, and diabetic—amazingly, these offerings are as flavorful and inventive as everything on the main menu.

My husband and I were married on the Big Island and held our wedding dinner at Brown's. It was truly a special night. We now have a vacation home on the Kohala Coast, and always plan a sunset dinner at Brown's when we are visiting.

My husband and I had dinner on January 31, 2007. I was a little skeptical based on the previous revues in this section but we LOVED it. The restaurant sits right on the water - it must be a gorgeous view during the day. The service was informative and attentive. We went specifically because I wanted the crab crusted Ono - this is now made with another fish (which name escapes me at the moment). I had the tuna and my husband the steak - both were very good. The chocolate cake is to die for!
