This 240-acre historic district encapsulates the village that once comprised the winter retreat and seasonal residences for America's wealthiest—Morgan, Pulitzer, Goodyear, Rockefeller, and Vanderbilt among them. Today, the original cottages still stand amidst the historic grounds with the Jekyll Island Club Hotel, founded in 1886, as the crowned jewel. Nearby is Faith Chapel, built in 1904, which is illuminated by stained-glass windows, including one Tiffany
original. The chapel is open daily 2–4 unless it has been reserved for a wedding.
