Hampton Inn & Suites

603 W. Oglethorpe Ave., Savannah, Georgia, 31401, United States, Savannah, Georgia, USA

Why We Like It

For a quality hotel so close to many of the must-see spots in the western part of the Historic District, it is tough to beat the rates.

Fodor's Expert Review

The rooms and suites at this well-known chain hotel are a remarkably good value for Savannah's Historic District. The studios and one-bedroom suites have their own kitchenettes, making them ideal for families. The beds are topped with soft linens. There's even a bank of public computers in the lobby near the concierge—unusual for a hotel at this price point. There are an adjacent parking lot and a small swimming pool but, alas, no restaurant or bar.

You Should Know If you will be using the pull-out couch in one of the suites make sure to request linen at check-in.

The clean and comfy rooms all come equipped with a microwave, refrigerator, 25 inch TV and free WIFI. Beds and linens are both of respectable quality, especially for the price range. Bathroom

Although minimalist, bathrooms are clean and bright. Strong water pressure and soft towels do not disappoint.

Lobby

Hardwood floors, a banistered staircase, and dark-wood furniture create a pleasant ambiance upon arrival. A fireplace and comfortable leather couches sit in an adjacent area. A mini convenience store gives visitors a chance to snag a last minute snack.

Tip On Friday and Saturday mornings, historical reenactors drop by, supplying interesting tidbits about Savannah’s past.

Pool

The outdoor pool, although not large enough for swimming laps, is perfect for a quick dip after a long day exploring the city, especially in the summer months.

Gym

Though sparse, the exercise area has both ellipticals and treadmills and sports a full-wall mirror. The room looks out onto the outdoor pool.

Dining

The breakfast bar offers coffee, fruit, baked goods, omelettes and sausages. The hotel also provides ready-made breakfast bags for travelers on the go.
