Angel's BBQ

Angel's BBQ Review

A favorite of "bizzare food" expert Andrew Zimmern and featured on Man vs. Food in 2012, this cozy little spot is a local favorite among barbecue fans and a regular stop on the Foodie Tour. Serving up a simple menu of pork and brisket, either on a bun or with two sides as a "plate," the quality and care put into the food is what keeps folks coming back for more. A wide variety of sauces, including representatives of all the major Southern styles (Carolina's mustard base, Memphis's sweet red sauce, etc.), make it fun to experiment with flavors, and the proprietary hot sauce is award winning. On the side, try their unique take on collard greens (which includes a peanut sauce) or some good ol' fashioned mac 'n' cheese. Wash it down with a big cup of sweet tea, or grab an old-school, long-neck bottle of Coca-Cola.
