A change of ownership has not changed the homey, neighborhood feel of this unpretentious restaurant, which continues to be an in spot for locals. Three meals a day are served, with Sunday brunch (reservations essential) and its bottomless mimosas renowned all over Savannah. Lunch (until 3) and dinner share the same menu, which is still star-worthy. Certain faves like the black-eyed-pea cake with Cajun remoulade and fried green tomato sandwiches (with oregano aioli) have been retained. Dinner entrées are an excellent value, and the lamb shanks with white-truffle risotto may make you moan. A good way to begin is with an exemplary wild-mushroom strudel. On Tuesdays there are half-price bottles of select wines; the wines by the glass are exceptional every day. Smoking is allowed after 10 PM and anytime at the patio tables.
